One email image. Three weather-ready offers.

Choose one destination, forecast day, and landing page, then design Default, Wet, and Cold / snow versions. DynaMail checks the saved location when it receives an image request and selects one static PNG. Your Default design is used when weather is mild or a usable forecast is unavailable.

How it works

  1. 1

    Choose a fixed location

Search for a city or postcode, or enter coordinates, then select the labeled result with its local timezone. Recipient IP addresses do not control the offer.

  2. 2

Choose the forecast day and cold threshold

Use Today, Tomorrow, or a calendar date within the three-day forecast window: the saved location’s local today through two days ahead. Cold applies only when the daily high is strictly below your threshold.

  3. 3

    Design all three outcomes

Create Default, Wet, and Cold / snow designs at the same canvas size. Deterministic editor scenarios let you inspect every rule without claiming to show live weather.

  4. 4

    Save one destination and embed

Every design links to the same landing page. The exported PNG adds a 20px WeatherAPI.com attribution strip beneath your editable canvas.

The finished widget is a plain image URL inside a link — paste it into your template, or your email editor’s image block, like this:

Example embed snippet

<a href="https://your-site.example/weather-offer"><img src="https://img.dynamail.io/widgets/YOUR-WIDGET-ID/render.png" width="600" height="260" alt="Weather-ready offer — view the activity" /></a>

YOUR-WIDGET-ID is a placeholder — every widget you create gets its own id. This widget uses a static PNG for broad email-client support. Use descriptive alt text so readers can understand the image when images are off or a screen reader reads the email.

The saved forecast date, location, and cold threshold select one of three designs for each new image request. Email clients and their image proxies may cache the PNG after fetching it. No script, no custom HTML, nothing for your email platform to strip out.

What it’s for

  • Museums and attractions — highlight an indoor plan when rain or storms are forecast
  • Hotels and travel — coordinate a cold-weather escape with an all-weather fallback
  • Local activities — switch between outdoor and sheltered experiences for one destination
  • Retail campaigns — keep one landing page while adapting the message to the forecast

How weather selection stays current

  • Forecast snapshots last up to four hours

DynaMail may reuse a valid forecast snapshot for up to four hours, then attempts a fresh provider read. The snapshot also changes at the saved location’s local midnight.

  • Default is the safe fallback

Unavailable or invalid weather and dates outside the forecast horizon select Default. No old forecast is used to choose an offer after its snapshot expires.

  • Inbox caches are outside DynaMail’s control

An email application or proxy may prefetch or retain an image. Keep the single linked landing page accurate for every offer a reader might see.

One saved rule and destination

Configure weather selection in the dashboard. Production image URLs cannot replace the location, date, threshold, designs, destination, or forecast result.

?pixelRatio=2Render at 2× for high-density screens

Scenario simulation is available only in authenticated previews. Custom text variables may change ordinary placeholders, but cannot enter the weather rule or change the saved destination.

Frequently asked questions

How do weather-based email offers work?

Save one location and three designs. For each new image request, DynaMail checks the selected local forecast date and chooses Wet for rain or storms, Cold / snow for snow or a daily high below your threshold, and Default otherwise.

How far ahead can I choose a forecast?

The supported window is the saved location’s local today through two days ahead. A fixed date outside that three-day window remains saved and uses Default until it enters the forecast window.

Which offer wins when it is both cold and rainy?

Cold / snow has priority. Snow always selects Cold / snow, and a daily high strictly below your chosen threshold does too. Rain and storms select Wet only when the cold rule does not apply. A high exactly equal to the threshold is not cold.

What happens if weather data is unavailable?

DynaMail renders your Default design when the provider is unavailable, returns invalid data, or has no forecast for the selected date. A saved widget remains usable even when a forecast cannot be checked.

Will every reader always see the latest weather design?

No. DynaMail resolves weather for new image requests, but email applications and image proxies may fetch images early or reuse a cached copy. The whole image always links to the one landing page you saved.

Where does the forecast come from?

Forecast data comes from WeatherAPI.com for the location and timezone you select. Each rendered image includes a WeatherAPI.com attribution strip below the editable design. Forecasts are estimates for general information and may differ at your location or time. Do not rely on them alone for safety, aviation, marine travel, or emergencies; consult official weather services and authorities.
