Free fundraising thermometer
A fundraising thermometer that stays up to date.
Set your goal and what you’ve raised so far, pick a style, and copy one image link for your newsletter or website. When more gifts come in, change the total once and the same link shows the new amount.
Free, no signup, no watermark. Each thermometer loads up to 5,000 times a month; claim it into a free account for 10,000 a month.
How it stays up to date
Your thermometer is an image with a permanent link. DynaMail draws it when the image loads, with the total you last saved, so there is nothing to re-upload when gifts come in. The goal is part of the link; the amount raised is not.
- From your edit link
- Open the private link you get when you make the thermometer, change the amount raised and save. No account needed; it works until you claim the thermometer.
- Automatically, once claimed
- Claim it into a free account, then send each new total from Zapier, Make, n8n or the DynaMail API, for example when your donation form records a gift.
Where people see it matters. On your website or donation page, the image loads with each visit, so visitors see the new total within a couple of minutes. In email, it shows the total at the moment the image loads. Some email apps load images as soon as a message arrives and keep that copy, so an older newsletter can show an older total.
See integrations for the Zapier, Make and n8n setup.
Frequently asked questions
Is the fundraising thermometer really free?
Yes, with no account and no watermark. Each free thermometer loads up to 5,000 times a month; claim it into a free account for 10,000 a month.
How do I update the amount raised?
Open your private edit link, change the amount and save. The image link stays the same, so everywhere you pasted it shows the new total the next time it loads. To update it automatically, claim it into a free account and send each new total from Zapier, Make or the DynaMail API. Once claimed, the edit link stops working.
Will emails I have already sent show the new total?
Sometimes. The image shows the total when it loads, not every time the email is opened, and some email apps keep the first copy they loaded. On a website, it loads with each visit, so visitors see a new total within a couple of minutes.
How do I add it to my newsletter or website?
Paste the email snippet into an HTML block in Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Kit or any email tool, or the image link into an image block. Paste the website snippet into an HTML or embed block on WordPress, Squarespace or Wix. It is a plain image, so it works in Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail.
What happens when we reach the goal?
It fills to the top and thanks your donors. Keep adding gifts: it shows the real total and how far past the goal you are, such as 125% funded. For a stretch goal, set a new one from your edit link; a new goal changes the image link, so paste the new snippet where it should show.
Can I show our campaign name on the image?
The image shows the amounts only, so put your campaign name in the text above it. The name you type here labels the thermometer and describes the image for screen readers.
What happens after 5,000 loads in a month?
The image shows a "limit reached" notice until the next month. Before sending to a large list, claim the thermometer into a free account for 10,000 loads a month.
