Widgets
A multi-day forecast for your email.
Show forecast days for a saved city, coordinate pair, or IP location. You can override the location and day count in the image URL. DynaMail reads Open-Meteo forecasts for new renders and caches weather data for up to one hour; email clients may reuse an earlier image.

A real render produced by DynaMail’s image pipeline.

How it works
Every DynaMail widget is a plain image URL. Design it in the dashboard, then paste the URL into an <img> tag — or your email editor’s image block — like this:
Example embed snippet
<img src="https://img.dynamail.io/widgets/YOUR-WIDGET-ID/render.png?locationQuery=Chicago&dayCount=3" width="600" height="240" alt="" />YOUR-WIDGET-ID is a placeholder — every widget you create gets its own id. The file extension requests the output format — gif, apng, webp, or png. Depending on the design, an animated widget may be served in an animated format even when a static extension is requested.
DynaMail renders when the image is requested and briefly caches the result. Email clients and their image proxies can also cache images, so a later open may reuse a previous response. No script, no custom HTML, nothing for your email platform to strip out.
What it’s for
- Trip updates — show the forecast for a destination
- Event planning — include the upcoming days at a venue
- Local newsletters — add a compact forecast strip
Personalize it in the URL
The data behind the widget — its values, chart points, and text placeholders — can come from the URL. Append query parameters, or your email platform’s merge tags, and each recipient’s open renders from their own data.
?locationQuery=…A city, postcode, or address; overrides the saved location?latitude=…Latitude; use with longitude to override the saved location?longitude=…Longitude; use with latitude to override the saved location?temperatureUnit=…Display temperatures in fahrenheit or celsius?dayCount=…Number of forecast days, clamped to one through sevenFrequently asked questions
How is the forecast location selected?
A URL locationQuery takes priority over a URL latitude and longitude pair, then the saved location. A widget saved in IP mode uses the image request’s client IP.
How many days can the forecast show?
Set dayCount in the URL for one to seven days. The render handler defaults to three days when that parameter is absent.
Where does the forecast come from?
DynaMail fetches forecasts from Open-Meteo and caches weather results for one hour. A new image request can use newer data, but email clients may reuse a cached image. Forecasts are estimates for general information and may differ at your location or time. Do not rely on them alone for safety, aviation, marine travel, or emergencies; consult official weather services and authorities.
What appears when forecast data is unavailable?
A production render shows “Weather data unavailable” when the forecast fetch returns no data. Editor previews may show sample forecast days.
